Where to eat and drink?

It's not by chance that Cape Town Restaurants receive the most awards in South Africa. Many of the country's best restaurants are hidden in the Mother City. Cape Town is a melting pot of many different cultures - and this is seen in the variety of restaurants available. Each restaurant in Cape Town offers something unique. You will always experience something new: New people, new atmospheres, and awesome vibes.

Restaurants within a 10minute drive from our house:
  • The Bayside Café. One of the most popular restaurants in Camps Bay. Good value for money and a vibey atmosphere.
  • The Kove. A traditional grill-house that offers Camps-Bay-flair and tasty seafood.
  • Zenzero. A very relaxed ambience and offers a truly unique fine dining experience. The views and ambience is fantastic and the food is even better.
  • Paranga. Good food, Good wine, Good service and Great value. Say no more!
  • The Grand. An up-market restaurant with a wonderful ambience with amazing views of Camps Bay beach. A bit on the expensive side, but worth the visit.
If you feel like venturing out to the more authentic, buzzing city centre, Kloof Street is the place to go. With more than 30 restaurant to choose from. Our favorites are:
  • The Bombay Bicycle Club is a high-energy, eclectic ambience.  Lots of fun! Bookings recommended
  • Café Paradiso. More family-friendly lunch venue with great views of the city bowl and Table Mountain.
  • Manna Epicure. One of the most stylish places to enjoy lunch.
  • Bacini's Lovely family-friendly vibe and comfort food. Homely, bustling, neighbourhood-joint feel.
  • Kyoto Garden Sushi. Great sushi!
  • Miller’s Thumb. An unpretentious and intimate space, with a warm lived-in feel, that has stood the test of time. Huge variety and the owner/chef use only the freshest ingredients.
  • De Waterkant is another super-trendy village with loads of interesting bars, restaurants and bars.
Our favorites around the Waterkant/Green Point/City centre area are:
  • Ill Leonne is one of the best and more expensive Italian Restaurants in Cape Town situated in a lovely restored Green Point house.
  • Beluga. Sushi and Prawn specials, contemorary vibe
  • Pigalle. Seafood is the drawing card here. A live band plays Sinatraesque tunes for couples twirling in-between courses
  • Hemelhuijs. Elegant bistro
  • La Petite Tarte. Cozy romantic bistro/lunch spot
  • Biesmiellah. This typically Cape Malay kitchen is definitely worth the try.
  • Bizerca creates flavour-packed, seasonal masterpieces at his legendary inner-city bistro
  • Limoncello. Wellpriced, traditional comforting dishes redolent with garlic and other typically Italian ingredients.
  • Aubergine. Sensational dishes, fresh produce
  • Savoy Cabbage. The restaurant is imbued with a discreet air of sophistication, but thankfully unstilted and relaxed. Bare, industrial decor results in an interesting space with exposed heritage brickwork and steel.

Winelands Dining

The beautiful backdrop created by mountains and vineyards has led to many excellent restaurants being found in the winelands regions of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Constantia. All three areas are home to award winning restaurants - from traditional Cape fare to French cuisine.

Try one of the award winning restaurants on either Buitenverwachting or Constantia Uitsig wine estate in Constantia.

Settled by the French Hugenots, Franschhoek now offers many restaurants with a distinctly French flair. Try Le Quatier Francais or La Petite Ferme for a beautiful vineyard setting - to name but a few!

For a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch try the mouth-watering Mediterranean style buffet at Olivello in Stellenbosch or opt for a picnic at Le Pique Nique at Boschendal wine estate in Franschhoek.
